Harris County Deputy Who Died On Duty Is Honored With Early Morning Procession
More than 20 sheriff's office patrol units escorted deputy from Crosby to the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

CROSBY, TX --A Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy who died while on duty Monday night was honored with an impromptu procession from Crosby, to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office
According to investigators, a Harris County sheriff’s deputy died unexpectedly while sitting in his patrol car in the parking lot of a gas station.
Investigators said the deputy was found by a store clerk at the gas station who noticed the car was running and the doors were locked.

The store clerk told investigators that he and a customer went to check on the deputy, and beat on the windows, but he would not respond, and called EMS.
First responders arrived and broke out the window to attempt life saving measures, but he died at the scene.

The deputy, who was a 26 year veteran of the sheriff’s office, is believed to have suffered a heart attack or another medical emergency, officials said.
A procession of more than 20 sheriff’s office vehicles escorted the deputy’s body from the store to the medical examiner’s office.
The deputy’s family has been notified, but his name and the apparent cause of death will released later.
