Pasadena ISD Teacher’s Aid Arrested For Promoting Child Pornography

WEBSTER, TX -- A Pasadena ISD special education aid was arrested by Webster Police after she allegedly tried to blackmail a 16-year old Maryland girl into sending her a nude video.

Police said Kimberly Tamayo, 20, who was an aid at Jackson Intermediate School in Webster, was having an online relationship with the girl who’d reportedly sent the woman nude photos of herself.

Police said that on Jan. 4 the online relationship between Tamayo and the teenage girl became more tumultuous when Tamayo demanded that the girl send her a nude video of herself, or she would send out the nude photos to her family.

On the same day, police said that Tamayo followed through and sent a nude photo of the girl to one of her family members, when the girl allegedly refused to cooperate.

Family members reported the incident to police, who arrested Tamayo on Jan. 10 and is now charged with two counts of promotion of child pornography.

Pasadena ISD was notified of Tamayo’s arrest and the subsequent charges, released a statement:

“Student safety is always our primary concern. Pasadena ISD learned that Kimberly Tamayo, a 20 year old Special Education Aide at Jackson Intermediate School, was arrested on two counts of child pornography. The alleged victim was a 16 year old Maryland girl. Upon learning of the arrest, Pasadena ISD took immediate action and terminated Tamayo. This appears to be an isolated incident stemming from an online friendship. No Pasadena ISD students were involved or are believed to have been victims.”
