Pasadena Man Convicted Of Assaulting Girlfriend

Randy Alfaro was convicted of assaulting his girlfriend in a Sam's Club parking lot in April.

RICHMOND, TX — A Pasadena man will spend the next six months in jail after he assaulted his girlfriend in a Sam’s Club parking lot in April.

Randy Ruiz Alfaro, 23, of Pasadena, was convicted on Oct. 26 by a Fort Bend County jury for assault family violence, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Prosecutors said that on April 20, Alfaro was verbally abusing and berating his girlfriend in the parking long in front of witnesses.

According to a Houston Chronicle report, Alfaro asked his girlfriend, 'do you want to unleash the devil?' during which time he came up behind the woman, put his arm around her neck and hit her five or six times.

Sugar Land Police received a number of emergency calls during the verbal barrage, and arrived shortly after the assault took place.

A jury took just 20 minutes to convict Alfaro, who will spend the next 187 days in jail.
