Pasadena Man Pulled From Early Morning Fire Dies From Smoke Inhalation [UPDATE]

Wife and son manage to escape flames, and flag down firefighters to rescue husband trapped inside burning home.

(UPDATE) PASADENA TX -- A man who was rescued from his burning home suffering from smoke inhalation early Monday has died.

Hector Garcia, 41, was pulled from the burning home as firefighting crews made their way inside to fight the blaze.

Firefighters were called to the 600 block of Randall Street at about 2:30 a.m. and found smoke and flames coming from the back of the home.

Garcia's wife and child were able to escape, but he was trapped inside but later found by firefighters, who rushed him to Bayshore Medical Center where he later died.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze by 4:30 a.m. and determined that the fire started in the back of the home.

However, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
