PODS® Houston Serves as Santa’s Sleigh for KBR’s Shopping Day
Moving and storage leader helped load up and transported toys purchased by KBR for Houston's largest holiday drive
On Dec. 13, PODS® Houston served as Santa’s Sleigh by storing, and transporting 20 shopping carts full of toys from the Operation Stocking Stuffer (OSS) shopping day sponsored by KBR at Target Houston Central store. OSS is expected to provide over 300,000 toys to approximately 5,000 families this holiday season.
Volunteers joined members of the Houston Fire Department as they raised holiday cheer through the aisles of the popular retail store selecting toys, clothing, and accessories to add to the thousands of items already donated by the public. The PODS® “sleigh” was stationed outside the store and welcomed volunteers with overflowing carts as they loaded the toys for transport to KBR.
Houston-based KBR, a global engineering, procurement, and construction firm, donated $10,000 to OSS to support the highly visual and festive shopping day, which is crucial to the success of the city’s largest holiday drive.

On Dec. 21, 20 PODS containers will be lined up to create a holiday “shopping” village, with each PODS container serving as a “room” for toys sorted by age group and gender. Thousands of families, many of whom will get in line the night before, will wind their way through the line while Santa’s helpers aka Operation Stocking Stuffer volunteers scurry from PODS container to PODS container to fill their orders. This highly visual community outreach event is expected to serve 5,000 families and distribute over 300,000 toys and gifts.
