The family, according to a KTRK report, never knew Ivey was missing.

Shannon Ivey lived only sparingly in La Porge, spending a majority of his life working on construction projects overseas.

The family relied mostly on emails and text messages from Shannon Ivey while he was away, and now believe the message they received over a nearly two year span, were actually coming from Toni Ivey.

Investigators are trying to determine if anyone else was involved.
