Police: Mother Let 11-Year-Old Drive Car Alone
She reportedly admitted to giving her 11-year-old daughter permission to pick up her 10-year-old brother in a 2.3 mile trip.

HOUSTON, TX -- A Houston woman is being accused of letting her 11-year-old daughter drive a car to pick up her younger brother, police say. She was arrested on Friday for two charges of endangering a child.
Maria Dejesus Lopez, 25, of the 1900 block of Lillian, reportedly gave her daughter permission to pick up her brother, who is 10 years old. Pasadena police pulled Lopez's daughter over in the 1100 block of Shaver after noticing the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
Click 2 Houston reported that the 11-year-old was driving to pick up her brother from the 200 block of Shaver and back home, a distance of 2.3 miles.

Police said that when the Pasadena officer pulled the girl over, she said it was her first time driving without an adult in the car. Police took the kids home.
Lopez's bond was set at $3,000.
