Plano: Clear The Shelters 2020

This year Clear the Shelters will run from Saturday, August 8 to Saturday, August 29. However, adoption fees will only be waived from Monday, August 24 to Saturday, August 29. You can view adoptable pets ahead of time on our Petfinder page at share.plano.gov/AdoptablePets. Call the Plano Animal Shelter at 972-769-4360 with questions. We will continue to follow social distancing guidelines and we are limiting the number of visitors in our shelter, so please be prepared to wait if you visit during peak times. Please remember to wear a mask when visiting the shelter.

As always, when adopting from our shelter, you must have:

• A valid, government issued, photo ID.
• $10 to register your new pet with the City of Plano (if you live in Plano).
• A copy of your lease agreement or letter from your landlord giving permission to adopt an animal and listing any prohibited breeds (if you rent a home or apartment).

When you take home your new family member, they will:

• Be spayed or neutered.
• Have a registered microchip.
• Have their first set of vaccines.
• Have a heartworm test and treatment if necessary.
• Go home with a collar and tags.
