Richardson ISD Employee Arrested For Child Pornography: Sheriff
Dante Schmidt admitted to possessing child pornography Monday as a search warrant was executed at his home. He is held in Plano's jail.
RICHARDSON, TX — An Allen resident and Richardson ISD employee was arrested Tuesday on charges of Possession of Child Pornography. According to a release from the Collin County Sheriff's Office, Dante Schmidt was arrested after a search warrant was executed at him home just after 6:00 p.m. Monday.
Police said he admitted to possessing child pornography and identified the computer he used to download and share the images. His computer was seized for investigation.
Schmidt was reportedly arrested without incident and taken to Plano Police Department's jail for processing.

It's not believed that any Richardson ISD students are victims in this crime. Police say RISD investigators are cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing. Schmidt's former position at RISD is not known at this time.
Additional charges could be filed against Schmidt as the investigation continues.
