• Pleasanton runners rack up PRs at Pete Belman Classic (pleasantonexpress.com) — Pleasanton runners turned in strong performances at the Pete Belman Classic, with the varsity girls finishing third and the boys fourth while several Eagles set personal records. Coach Arianna McDermott says the fast times should boost confidence as Pleasanton heads to the Billy Nabours Oktoberfest meet and then the district championships in Uvalde in mid-October.
   

• TxDOT cameras show standstill traffic after major San Antonio crash (lmtonline.com) — Drivers from Pleasanton should be prepared for major delays after a serious crash shut down all southbound lanes of I-37 from Spur 189 to FM 541 just south of town. Traffic is being detoured via exit 199 to U.S. 281 and back to the frontage road, and officials say the closure could last several hours while details about injuries remain unknown.
   

• DPS seeks public's help locating hit-and-run driver (pleasantonexpress.com) — State troopers are asking Pleasanton-area residents for help identifying a driver involved in a serious hit-and-run on southbound I-37 in Atascosa County Wednesday morning. A 52-year-old pedestrian was badly injured and airlifted to Brooke Army Medical Center, and investigators believe a newer white Dodge utility van with right-side mirror damage was involved. Anyone with tips is urged to call DPS.
