Juvenile in Custody After Round Rock Knife Attack (Updated)
Suspect knifed 2 people at Gattis School Road eatery on Saturday night, sending them to them hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
ROUND ROCK, TX — A juvenile is in custody following a Saturday night knifing attack at a local McDonald's restaurant, the sheriff said on Sunday.
The incident occurred at around 11 p.m. at the fast food restaurant at Texas 130 and Gattis School Road, Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody wrote on Twitter late Sunday. A directory lookup shows the address as 4929 Gattis School Rd. from where the sheriff said the two victims were transported to the hospital for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
In a Sunday morning Facebook post, Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody said detectives learned the suspect's name from witnesses before the juvenile fled the scene. He noted the motive of the attack likely was robbery, and the unidentified juvenile is now in custody.

Chody alternately described the attack as a "slashing/stabbing" on Twitter after having described the victims as having been "slashed." The condition of the two victims is unknown, Chody added. Early Sunday morning, just after 8 a.m., Chody posted a tweet indicating a suspect was in custody before deleting the post without explanation.
A perimeter was set up at the crime scene as residents were urged to avoid the area to accommodate a police investigation. In the meantime, Chody released a surveillance camera image of the suspect who was last seen running south from the McDonald's restaurant following the attack.

The surveillance camera image does not show the suspect's face as it is taken from behind. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man standing between five feet, three inches and five feet, five inches in height. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and mask, according to the sheriff.
