2 Round Rock Officers Injured During Traffic Stop (Updates)
Car crash after driver flees traffic stop at Tiger Trail/Sunrise Road sends officers to hospital in unknown condition on Thursday.
ROUND ROCK, TX — Two Round Rock police officers were injured Thursday afternoon while conducting what officials called a high-risk traffic stop, officials said.
The incident occurred at 4:17 p.m. as the officers were involved in a traffic stop at Tiger Trail and Sunrise Road in Round Rock when the motorist who had been pulled over fled, resulting in a traffic collision.
Police later said the two officers were injured during a food pursuit, but were not seriously hurt. Both have since been released from the hospital.

Police subsequently identified the driver as Jonathan Deandre Neal, 30, of Round Rock. In a Friday press advisory, police said Neal was known to have felony warrants. Neal was taken into custody after officers deployed a taser. In addition, Neal was held on a Travis County felony warrant for Assault Causes Bodily Injury-Family Violence.
The injured officers and Neal were transported to a local hospital for treatment, and Neal was later booked into Williamson County Jail on charges of Assault on a Public Servant and Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle.

In the aftermath of the incident, a section of Sunrise Road between Bowman Road and Country Aire Drive as closed to accommodate a police investigation. The driver was placed under custody, police said.
