$20 Million Rehabilitation Center Opens In Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, TX — Rapid Recovery Center officials on Wednesday announced the opening of a $20 million physical and occupational rehabilitation center that offers post-hospital patient care in Round Rock.

Company officials described the state-of-the-art facility as one providing a new model of care designed to help patients transition out of the hospital sooner, return home faster, and reduce their likelihood of returning to the hospital. That, in turn, frees up hospital beds and can reduce the total cost of care, officials added.

The model, officials said, meets a critical need in health care by serving as a short-stay bridge from the hospital to one’s home, while still allowing the patient to recover under the care of a physician-led team. Rapid Recovery Centers are led by veteran health care executive Mark Fritz, who is president of RRC Texas.

"We are thrilled to bring our innovative brand of care to the community of Round Rock,” Fritz said in a prepared statement. “We work closely with local hospital systems, medical professionals and insurance providers to ensure that our patients have everything they need during their stay. Our goal is to give our patients the immediate care they need and be the catalyst to help them recover as soon as possible and enable them to return home to their daily lives.”

The center’s clinical care capabilities include state-of-the-art physical and occupational rehabilitation facilities available seven days a week; hospital-grade, piped-in oxygen and suction; an in-house pharmacy dispensing system; dialysis coordination; electronic medical records, and other clinical support services, according to officials. Moreover, the rehab center can accommodate patients in 70 private rooms with private bathrooms. The facility also provides in-room or fine dining options prepared by the executive chef and an onsite hair salon.

The new Round Rock center employs 140 full-time staff members, including an onsite Registered Nurse supervisor available 24/7 to manage patient care. An experienced medical director will oversee the coordination of medical care and treatment, with assistance from full-time nurse practitioners.

Rapid Recovery Center is located at 16219 Ranch Road 620 North in Round Rock.
