ROUND ROCK, TX — Police released four students detained at Cedar Ridge High School amid reports of a weapon on campus, officials said on Thursday. The students were released after no weapons were found on them, police said.

The Round Rock Police Department alerted to the incident on Twitter at around 10:45 a.m. Officials pointed out there was no lingering threat to the public, and their investigation is ongoing. The high school is located at 2801 Gattis School Rd.

Some on social media noted the school sent a note to parents alerting the school had been placed in lock-down mode during the police investigation. A copy of the missive noted the lock-down was implemented just after 10 a.m., as school Principal Jiae Kim alerted parents in a note.
