Accused Round Rock Shooter Arrested
Police have apprehended a suspect accused of randomly shooting another driver in the head along A.W. Grimes Boulevard on Sunday.
ROUND ROCK, TX — Police have apprehended a suspect believed to be involved in a Sunday night car wreck involving gunfire, officials said on Friday.
Police said Xavier Gutierrez was arrested on Thursday at around 10:30 a.m. on a previous Travis County Warrant for credit card abuse, authorities wrote in a press advisory. The suspect has since been charged with aggravated assault after being accused of randomly shooting at the victim around 11 p.m. along the 1300 block of North A.W. Grimes Boulevard, police added.
Without provocation, Gutierrez is accused of firing from a vehicle into the victim's car, injuring the other driver with a gunshot to the head. This resulted in the victim’s pickup truck rolling over and crashing into an electrical pole.

Police added the shooting victim is currently in stable condition, noting that Gutierrez has a previous arrest history.
Round Rock police took the time to thank residents for submitting information related to the shooting: "Thank you to everyone that provided tips and shared our social media posts," police wrote.
