• Emergency Preparedness Night at Round Rock Express (austintexas.gov) — Round Rock families can head to Dell Diamond on Wednesday, Sept. 2 for Emergency Preparedness Night, combining a Round Rock Express game with practical safety resources. Local agencies will share tips on planning, emergency kits, staying informed and connecting with neighbors, alongside $1 hot dogs and ballpark fun.
   

• Exit ramps, road improvements: 6 Austin metro transportation updates (communityimpact.com) — A major extension of East Old Settlers Boulevard in Round Rock, adding four lanes and a new bridge over McNutt Creek, has been finalized and will open once nearby Red Bud Lane work shifts traffic. The regional roundup also highlights other Austin-area road projects that could affect Round Rock drivers heading across the metro.
   

• Georgetown officer-involved shooting: New details, man's identity released (fox7austin.com) — A recent fatal officer-involved shooting on the Georgetown Square is now under investigation by the Texas Rangers, with officials confirming the man involved had earlier been arrested at St. David's Hospital in Round Rock. Authorities say he was released from jail before later struggling with Georgetown officers, during which a shot was heard and an officer fired. Leaders emphasize mental health support and plan to present the case to a grand jury.
