• Texas Engineer Fatally Stabbed in Unprovoked Park Attack (conservativejournalreview.com) — A Round Rock man was fatally stabbed in an apparently unprovoked attack on a park bench shortly after visiting his mother at a local nursing home, leaving the community shaken. Deputies quickly arrested a 26-year-old suspect with a lengthy prior record, and friends are now pressing officials for answers about why he was free just months after his latest jail release.
   

• Rangers activate RHP Nathan Eovaldi, 3B Josh Jung from IL (kfgo.com) — The Texas Rangers have activated pitcher Nathan Eovaldi and third baseman Josh Jung from the injured list, shuffling their roster just as the playoff race tightens. Catcher Logan O'Hoppe and pitcher Adam Macko were optioned to Triple-A Round Rock, meaning local fans may soon see more big-league talent suiting up at Dell Diamond.
