Caretaker Charged With Stealing From Round Rock Victim

Meghan Elina Kennedy, 34, had been taking care of woman for three months before being accused of stealing $2K in silver dollars.

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS — An Austin caretaker was arrested after being accused of stealing $2,000 in silver half-dollar coins from a Round Rock woman under her care, according to a published report.

The allegation dating to last year was detailed in an arrest affidavit released Monday, as the Austin American-Statesman reported. Meghan Elina Kennedy, 34, was the victim's caretaker for three months at the woman's home along Bobcat Drive in Round Rock, according to the report.

The victim discovered the coins were gone when Kennedy abruptly exited the home following an unspecified disturbance last July, according to the affidavit. According to the report, Kennedy acknowledged having taken the coins without permission but told the victim she would pay her back for them — a repayment plan that never materialized.
