Child Luring Incident Near Hopewell Middle School Under Investigation

A man asked a young girl to help him get candy out of the trunk of his vehicle.

Round Rock police are investigating a child luring incident that took place near Hopewell Middle School on Wednesday.

On Dec. 2 at about 1:40 p.m., police were called to the 3700 block of Blue Cat Way in response to a report of an unknown suspect attempting to lure a child, police said.

A white male approached approached a minor female near Pike Path and asked her to help him get candy out of the trunk of his vehicle. the child refused.

The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 40 and 45 years old, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with a stocky build. He is reported to be balding, with short dirty blonde hair and thin eyebrows. The suspect has a scar on his right cheek below his eye. He was last seen wearing “baggy faded blue jeans, a dark green long-sleeve shirt, and yellow-type work boots with paint on them.”

The suspect’s car is described as a silver 4-door passenger car with tinted windows, a black hood, and factory rims. There is recognizable damage to the left rear fender and rear driver’s side light.
