City Of Round Rock Earns Budget Award

Municipal budget meets nationally recognized guidelines for 22nd consecutive year.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to the city for its most recent budget — the 22nd consecutive year the municipality has secured the honor.

"The award represents a significant achievement and reflects the commitment of the city’s staff and council to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting," officials said in a press advisory. In order to receive the budget award, the city had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines that assess how well an entity’s budget serves as:

Moreover, budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories, and the 14 mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award, city officials said Award recipients have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America, officials added.
