Coronavirus: WilCo Illness Count Now 140, 12 New Cases Emerge

Williamson County health officials see one of the biggest single-day increases in respiratory illness cases on Thursday.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — County health officials said on Thursday a dozen more cases of new coronavirus cases were confirmed, bringing the number of cases to 140.

Health officials added that 78 people have recovered since being diagnosed with the respiratory illness. To date, four people have died after succumbing to the ailment caused by the COVID-19 virus.

Health officials update the illness figures daily on a dashboard found at www.wcchd.org/COVID-19/dashboard.php. Cases in "Other cities in Williamson County" column are a combined total that include cities with populations below 20,000 and unincorporated Williamson to protect the privacy of residents.

Those exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness — including cough, fever and shortness of breath — are urged to contact their health care providers.
