Coronavirus: Williamson County Confirmed Cases Now Total 71

Williamson County health officials said eight new coronavirus cases have emerged for the region from the previous day's count.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX β€” Williamson County health officials on Friday said eight new coronavirus cases have emerged for the region, bringing the total number of patients to 71.

In upgrading the count, Williamson County and Cities Health District officials said they would said they would post further COVID-19 deaths and cases will be reported on the dashboard located at www.wcchd.org/COVID-19/dashboard.php, which is updated just past noon daily.

Of the total cases, Round Rock has the highest concentration of illness with 26 diagnosed cases, according to the dashboard. Cedar Park and Leander have nine and ten cases, respectively.

Cases in "Other cities in Williamson County" column are a combined total that include cities with populations below 20,000 and unincorporated Williamson to protect the privacy of residents, health officials explained.

Those exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness β€” including cough, fever and shortness of breath β€” are urged to contact their health care providers. It is important to call ahead before arriving at a clinic, urgent care or emergency department to avoid potential spread, health officials added.
