Dell Technologies In Round Rock Acquires World's Largest Foam Finger
To celebrate its first year since merging with

ROUND ROCK, TX — Dell Technologies has created the world's largest foam finger to celebrate its banner year as the world's largest privately held technology company, according to an announcement.
Indicating the number one (as your finer-made foam fingers do), the giant digit representations was certified by Guinness World Records™ as the largest ever, according to a press release on PRNewswire. It was created to celebrate the first anniversary of the formation of Dell Technologies through the $63 billion mega-merger of Dell and EMC Corp., a union that yielded the world's largest private company.
The foam finger also serves to commemorate the company's overall market leadership position in multiple categories, company officials noted. It's on display for employees and visiting customers at Dell's headquarters in Round Rock, and is made of recyclable materials, according to the news release.

The dimensions of the foam finger: 20 feet tall, nine feet, four inches wide and one foot, six inches thick.
But not everybody will get to enjoy the finger. Novitex disclosed this week it would cut 86 job cuts at its client site Dell Inc. in Round Rock by the end of October. The elimination of those positions is attributable to the "...sudden and unexpected loss of its contract with Dell Inc.," a company officials wrote in an accompanying letter to state officials.
