WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS — Donna Harrell, Veteran Service Officer/Director of Veteran Services for Williamson County, was awarded the 2017-2018 Dan Garcia Memorial Achievement Award in a surprise presentation today during the Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday.

The award was presented by Thomas Belton, current vice president of the association. The honor is an annual award given to one recipient statewide for superior performance above and beyond the call of duty as a Veterans County Service Officer from the Veterans County Service Officers Association of Texas, officials explained.

“I am extremely grateful for the recognition, as the Dan Garcia is an award given not only by my peers, but also members of the community who recognize my work and passion for working with Veterans and their families,” Harrell said in a prepared statement.
