Here are the top three stories today in Round Rock:
- The Round Rock City Council is considering a memorandum to return treated wastewater to Lake Pflugerville. This memorandum will be a nonbinding agreement that holds no associated costs and serves as a feasibility study. The effluent wastewater is currently treated and either reused or dumped directly into Brushy Creek, according to Utilities officials. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- The Round Rock Public Library will host a contests for entrepreneurs with a $10,000 grand prize. Competitors will need to create a business plan that details their company structure, goals and plans for the future. Plans must be submitted no later than Mar. 31, 2022. Workshops will also be provided to help competitors develop their plans. (Austin American-Statesman)
- The City of Round Rock seeks to bring awareness during National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. A 2017 study estimated that 313,000 victims of human trafficking reside in Texas. The city has compiled a list of resources for victims to utilize and can be found at the link provided. (City of Round Rock)
