Firm To Close Facility, Cut 170 Jobs In Round Rock By December

Transform SR LLC, a buyer of retailers' assets, will close its facility at 1300 Louis Henna Blvd. while cutting positions by Dec. 12.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Transform SR LLC, a buyer of retailers' assets, will permanently close its building in Round Rock, leading to the elimination of 170 jobs by December, Patch has learned.

The company recently filed a notification alerting to the upcoming layoffs to the Texas Workforce Commission as part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act that compels companies to give enough notice to workers about to be furloughed. Patch requested correspondence sent to state regulators outlining the plans.

The company will close its facility at 1300 Louis Henna Blvd., a move that will lead to 170 job cuts by Dec. 12, the company's senior human resources director wrote. While the cuts are expected to be permanent, the officials noted, not all positions will be eliminated.

Affected employees have no union representation or so-called "bumping rights," which allows workers with seniority to take the job of a newer colleague to avoid being laid off. A certain number of affected workers will be placed on administrative leave effective immediately, the human resources directors wrote, and will continue to receive their usual pay and benefits during the leave period.

It's unclear what led to the reductions. No further details were provided in the correspondence from the human resources director, Milena Thompson.
