Four Pets Rescued From Round Rock House Fire Causing $50K Worth Of Property Damage

While fighting the fire, first responders were able to save two cats and two dogs from the blaze in the second story of the home.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- Four pets were rescued from a burning home Tuesday afternoon during a blaze that would ultimately cause $50,000 in property damage.

Firefighters were dispatched to the fire along the 1800 block of Bayland Street just before 9 a.m., city officials said in a press advisory. The home is located about two blocks from Vic Robertson Elementary School

Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy smoke emanating from the second floor of the home, officials said.

While crews battled the blaze, they were able to rescue two dogs and two cats from the home. The animals were treated for smoke inhalation by Williamson County paramedics, and all are expected to survive.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined, officials said. The Round Rock Fire Marshal's Office continues to investigate.
