Frisco: Various Lanes At Preston Rd And Srt Closed Nightly August 31 - September 4

All closures are subject to weather conditions & will be postponed, if necessary. Drivers are urged to use caution in the construction area.

NTTA has notified the city that various lanes at Preston Rd and Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) will be closed nightly August 31 through September 4 as part of the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) Fourth Lane Project. Please see the NTTA Traffic Advisory below:

August 31 - September 4, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Various lanes of the north - and southbound Preston Rd flyover bridge
  • Various lanes of north - and southbound Preston Rd between east - and westbound SH 121 (the SRT frontage road)
  • The U-lane lanes at Preston Rd

Note: Not all lanes will be closed at one time. Either one direction of Preston Rd or the flyover ramp will be closed at a time.

Detour: See attached map

  • North and southbound Preston Road flyover detour: Proceed through the intersection to your destination.
  • Northbound Preston Road detour: Turn right onto SH 121 and make a U-turn at Hillcrest Rd/Rasor Blvd. Continue to Preston Road and turn right.
  • Southbound Preston Road detour: Turn right onto SH 121 and make a U-turn at Parkwood Blvd. Continue east to Preston Rd and turn right.

Construction work for this project includes adding a fourth lane in each direction from US 75 to south of Denton Tap Rd. Changeable message signs will be placed prior to lane closures in the construction area. NTTA coordinated these closures with the cities of Frisco and Plano.
