Kids Launch Funds Drive To Offset Georgetown Boy's Medical Bills

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Friends of Wess Wilburn, a Georgetown fifth-grader injured in a recent automobile accident, will gather at the courthouse lawn on Friday to raise funds to offset his medical bills.

Willburn broke several vertebrae when he and his family were involved in a May 30 car collision. Other members of his family suffered only minor injuries in the head-on crash, according to reports.

The young boy's classmates have organized to help their ailing friend. On Friday, the youngsters will have lemonade and other goodies to sell while accepting donations to help offset their friend's hospital bills.

The event is scheduled to take place Friday, June 7, on the shady, west side of the square fronting Mesquite Creek Outfitters in Georgetown from noon to 2 p.m. The kids will be out there until supplies run out in their quest to raise funds for their buddy.

Additionally, a link has been set up to send donations to the family. Designed to raise funds for household care as the boy's family tend to him during his recovery, the donations portal has raised $3,245 at last check.
