Mike Pendley Named 'Deputy Of The Year' In WilCo
He's worked his way up in Precinct 1 Constable's Office from sergeant investigator to lieutenant to his current position of chief deputy.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Chief Deputy Mike Pendley with the Williamson County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office was named Deputy of the Year at the 75th Annual Justice of the Peace and Constables Association Education Conference on July 27, officials said.
“I am extremely proud of Chief Deputy Pendley, who is very deserving of this award," Precinct 1 Constable Vinnie Cherrone said in a prepared statement. "Chief Deputy Pendley has a servant’s heart when it comes not only to the office but with his interactions with the constituents of Precinct One and other county personnel. He is a true asset to Williamson County and Precinct One,”
According to a county-provided bio, Pendley has worked his way up in the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office from sergeant investigator to lieutenant to his current position of chief deputy. The chief deputy is responsible to the constable to plan, organize, implement, administer and evaluate all the office’s operations and programs. Some of these operations include putting together and managing the more than $1.5 million budget of the Constable’s office and maintaining the Precinct One Texas Police Chief’s Best Practices Accreditation.

Moreover, the chief deputy is tasked with assuming the duties, responsibilities and authority of the constable in his absence.
Pendley ley is a graduate of LEMIT Texas Constable Leadership College Class #13, FBI LEEDA Trilogy, and manages law enforcement and civilian personnel in accordance with the Precinct One mission statement of “Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence,” officials said.

Beyond protecting the general public, Pendley enjoys engaging in community outreach programs such as National Night Out, and believes such events are vital to reinforcing positive public relations for law enforcement officers. For the past five years, he also has been involved as both a speaker and a coordinator with Shattered Dreams, an awareness program that educates high school students on the dangers of driving while intoxicated.
