Fatal Car Wreck Along SH 130 Prompts Road Closure
Police ask motorists to avoid the area as southbound lanes are closed and traffic diverted to Highway 29 to accommodate emergency crews.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — A fatal automobile accident along State Highway 130 in Georgetown on Wednesday resulted in protracted traffic delays on Wednesday, according to police.
Police and fire crews were at the scene of the crash along SH 130 just south of Highway 29, officials tweeted. The incident has prompted closures of southbound SH 130 until further notice, with traffic being diverted to Highway 29.
Law enforcement officials originally categorized the wreck as one involving multiple fatalities. In the end, a single death was confirmed in a vehicle that had at least five occupants. The extent of the other passengers' injuries was not disclosed.
