ROUND ROCK, TX -- City Council members have approved the annexing and rezoning of 27 acres, clearing the way for a <a href="http://www.statesman.com/news/news/local/new-residential-development-slated-for-south-round/nsfk6/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">multifamily developmen</a>t of apartment homes, according to a published report.   The Austin American-Statesman reported the land is located northeast of the corner of Greenlawn Boulevard and Pflugerville Parkway. The new planned unit development (PUD) was approved last Friday, the newspaper noted.   Wisconsin-based Continental Properties is slated to develop 22.5 acres of the tract with apartment homes, the paper reported. The plan calls for a dozen residential units per building, with a common open space in between, according to city officials. According to city documents, the development also will feature a number of amenities: A business center; community kitchen; fitness facility; pet playgrounds; social room; and swimming pool.   City officials said the remaining 4.5 acres at the site are reserved for commercial use, although it's unclear who the tenant or tenants might be.   "It's a project that would be great for the city and it's a project that we didn't have, as opposed to just your traditional multifamily (development), which we're not as interested in," the Statesman quoted Mayor Alan McGraw as saying.
