Officials Investigate Cause Of Recent Round Rock Fire
Conflagration at Enclave of Round Rock Senior Living facility, 2351 Oakmont Dr., displaced 55 residents last Friday.
ROUND ROCK, TX — Fire officials continue to investigate a recent fire at a retirement home that displaced 55 residents.
The fire broke out at the Enclave of Round Rock Senior Living facility, 2351 Oakmont Dr., in the evening of Friday, Aug. 16. One of the residents was transported to the hospital for issues not deemed life-threatening. Given the large number of displaced residents, buses from Round Rock ISD and Capital Metro were secured to transport residents to makeshift shelter at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
Fire officials said the fire began in air conditioning units located on the rood of the building and a portion of the attic. The fire department's entire fleet — a total of 11 fire trucks — responded to the three-alarm call, city officials wrote on the municipal website.
