Tyrone Price, 43, and his daughter Cheyenne, 12, died at the scene after a car rolled over them when two Ford Mustang drivers drag raced.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- Police on Monday officially identified the pedestrians -- a father and his daughter -- killed over the weekend from a vehicle rollover crash that occurred when two drivers were drag racing down a major street.

The victims were Tyrone Price, 43, and his 12-year-old daughter, Cheyenne Price, both of Round Rock. Round Rock police sent a news advisory to media alerting to the victims' identities.

Round Rock police and fire personnel responded to a crash at the intersection of 1701 S. A.W. Grimes Blvd. and Gattis School Road at 3:48 p.m. A preliminary investigation reveals a silver van and a red Ford Mustang collided in the intersection and struck the two pedestrians.

The scene of the accident has turned into a makeshift memorial site for the two innocent victims, with residents dropping off teddy bears, flowers and balloons in an expansive show of condolence and support for the victims' family.

The driver of the Mustang was racing with the driver of a blue Ford Mustang who fled the scene of the wreck, according to witnesses. Price and his daughter were crossing Gattis School Road when the collision occurred, resulting in their deaths at the scene, police said.

Four other people involved in the crash were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and one person was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The Round Rock Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate this incident and the circumstances surrounding it, a spokeswoman for the police department said in an email. Additional information will be released as it becomes available, she added.

Separately, a GoFundMe page has been created to help defray funeral costs. At last check, $10,457 of a $25,000 goal had been raised.

"My brother and niece, Tyrone Price and his youngest daughter, Cheyenne, were tragically killed today," a family member wrote on the GoFundMe page he created. "Tyrone was a hard-working husband and devoted father of three. No one is ever ready for this kind of loss of a family member, let alone two, so our family is asking for any help during this hard time.

"We are grieving and now have two funerals to plan for," the brother and uncle of the victims wrote. "Any and all help is appreciated."

Police previously indicated that charges will be charged against the driver of the red Ford Mustang who was injured in the wreck. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the blue Mustang involved in the drag racing is urged to notify them immediately.

The blue Ford Mustang driven by the motorist who fled the scene of the crash is a newer model Ford Mustang GT, likely adorned with "Grabber Blue" paint and possibly two black stripes running down the trunk lid. The car is likely damaged after the wreck, with dents likely on the right passenger side -- from the front quarter panel to the quarter panel, police told media outlets.

In an email, Round Rock Police Department spokeswoman Angelique Myers said detectives continue to review surveillance video, interview witnesses and follow leads on this case. Those with information pertinent to the incident are urged to call the police tip line at 512-671-2842.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- Two pedestrians, a man and a young girl, were killed Saturday evening after one of two cars that was racing down a major street lost control and struck them, police said.

The rollover crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m. at the intersection of A.W. Grimes Boulevard and Gattis School Road, police told the Austin American-Statesman. Witnesses told police two Ford Mustang cars were racing in the northbound lanes of A.W. Grimes Boulevard when one of the vehicles struck a van at the intersection and lost control.

The red Ford Mustang rolled over and struck the two pedestrians, who were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification to next of kin.

Late Saturday, CBS Austin reported the victims were a man and his 12-year-old daughter.

Witnesses told police the other driver who was drag racing left the scene of the accident, the Statesman reported. According to CBS Austin, the other car is a blue Ford Mustang. The cars were going double the 45 mph speed limit posted, the news station reported.
