City Council Member Craig Morgan Announces Plans To Run For Round Rock Mayor
The five-year council member revealed his plans following the decision of Alan McGraw not to seek re-election as mayor.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Craig Morgan, a member of city council, has thrown his hat in the ring hoping to secure the mayor's post.
The city's mayor pro tem, Place 1 council member Craig Morgan made his goal known last week after an announcement by Mayor Alan McGraw of his decision not to seek re-election as mayor. Morgan issued a news release expounding on his own plans to secure the post.
“I will continue our good work by focusing on bringing jobs to the area, keeping our citizens safe through support of our public safety officials, and improving transportation and quality of life for the citizens of Round Rock,” Morgan wrote.

Morgan also is a current member of the Rotary Club of Round Rock and attends the Fellowship at Forest Creek in Round Rock, according to an official biography on the municipal website.
Morgan earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University, an MBA from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University), and his law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law. He is married to Amanda Morgan and they have a son, Garret, attending the University of Texas at Austin.

McGraw was elected to his first mayoral term in May 2008, and was sworn in to his third term in May 2014. Prior to his election, he served on the Round Rock City Council for seven years, four of those years as Mayor Pro-Tem. A Round Rock real estate attorney, McGraw holds a degree in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University, a master’s in Taxation from Colorado State University, and a law degree from the University of Texas.
