Police Continue Investigating Fatal Round Rock Shooting

ROUND ROCK, TX — Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting last month that claimed the life of a local resident.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, when officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 600 block of Louis Henna Boulevard. A male victim was found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds before being transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The dead man was later identified as 20-year-old Jabari Cephus, police wrote in an update. Officials said a person of interest has been identified, but an arrest has yet to be made in the shooting that occurred in the parking lot of the Regency at Dell Ranch apartment complex.

A preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was the culmination of a dispute between the victim and shooter, and there is no lingering threat to the public at large.
