Round Rock Infant's Death Under Investigation

8-month-old reported to be not breathing died at a home along the 2300 block of Loquat Lane, according to law enforcement officials.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Police are investigating the death of an infant in Round Rock, officials said on Tuesday.

The 8-month-old died at a home along the 2300 block of Loquat Lane, the Round Rock Police Department said via Twitter at 5:40 p.m. Police released more details by Wednesday, saying the infant was not breathing when an emergency call was first made.

Despite medical workers' applying of CPR techniques, the child was pronounced dead.

"An investigation was initiated to determine the cause of death," police wrote in a press advisory. "The investigation is ongoing as we await the autopsy report."
