Popular Bon Chon Fried Chicken Eatery Coming To Round Rock
Making its entry into the Austin market, chain offers signature fried chicken soy garlic and spicy among other items.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Popular Korean fried chicken chain Bon Chon is making it entry into the Austin market with a location in Round Rock, company officials said.
But that's about all they'll say. Restaurant officials only indicate they are "coming soon" on their Facebookpage, with a map indicating the location is off Interstate 35. One excited commentator asked officials on a Facebook thread when they would opening, prompting Bonchon officials to respond: "Follow our page as opening dates will be announced here! Can't wait to see you there!
A South Korean-based international fried chicken restaurant franchise, the company was launched in 2002 with its first location in Annandale, Va. where there is a large expatriate South Korean population, according to Wikipedia. Since then, the company has expanded to more than 200 stores, including in Calfornia, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Virginia and Texas.

Additionally, there is a store in Hawaii and 10 in its South Korea home base. Other locations include 97 sites in the Philippines, 10 in Thailand and six in Indonesia. The company operates its U.S. headquarters in New York City.
According to its Facebook page, the restaurant chain's signature fried chicken is suffused with Korean-influenced flavors with its soy garlic and spicy options. Restaurant officials describe the former as "an experience with the savory flavors of soybeans and garlic," and the latter as "a bolder taste, inspired by the power of fiery Korean peppers." Bon Chon chicken comes in wing, drumstick, and strip form.

Another popular item is the chain's Salmon Avocado Ball starter, described as: "A mix of avocado, crab meat, cucumber, and fish roe wrapped in seared fresh salmon, topped with spicy mayo, unagi sauce and crunchy tempura bits.
The Round Rock store marks the company's entry into the Austin market, with others Texas locations located in The Colony, a Dallas suburb, and in the Houston suburbs of Katy, Sugar Land and Pearland.
