Renowned Kiddie Academy® Child Care Program Opens In Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, TX — Kiddie Academy®, a nationally recognized provider of comprehensive education-based child care programs, has opened its newest location in Round Rock, officials said.

For more than 35 years the company has been successful with combining learning with child care, said Eric Ng, owner of Kiddie Academy of Round Rock, located at 5080 North AW Grimes Boulevard. The Academy is the second Texas location for its owners who also own and operate the nearby highly rated and NAEYC accredited Kiddie Academy of Pflugerville.

Ng and his wife, Mar Ng (who also will be an active member of the school) were profiled by the Austin American-Statesman in 2014 when they opened a Pflugerville franchise. That opening marked the entry into the Central Texas market for the Maryland-based Kiddie Academy® child care program.

At the time, Eric Ng told the Statesman he and his wife had been exploring the idea of launching their own business toward greater flexibility to spend time with their own two young children. “One year ago, we started looking for daycare for our daughter," he told the newspaper at the time. "And realized a lot of places had waiting lists. We started seeing the demand in the area.”

He described the company's mission in announcing the opening of the Round Rock site: "Our well-trained, attentive staff assists children in developing the confidence and self-esteem necessary to meet the challenges of tomorrow," Ng said. "Our philosophy at Kiddie Academy is that care and learning go hand in hand. According to the National Childcare Accreditation Council, children’s learning and development is enhanced when they make choices and guide their own experiences through their individual interests, personalities and skills, Ng noted. Children’s learning occurs through planned and spontaneous experiences, during their participation in daily routines and through their experience of positive modeling by adults and peers, he added.

Ng reiterated that focus: "The assortment of activities we have available for the children is endless, which encourages them to learn, play and explore. When children attend Kiddie Academy of Round Rock, they will acquire the skills and strength of character that will foster their success."
