Round Rock Accused Of Threatening Man With Gun

Allen Riojas, 26, is accused of threatening man who wouldn't loan his his bike saying 'My family is Mafia, and they kill for free.'

ROUND ROCK, TX — Police have charged a man with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in an incident where he is alleged to have tried stealing another man's bicycle at gunpoint, according to a published report.

The incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday outside a drugstore at 901 E. Palm Valley Blvd., according to an arrest affidavit referenced by the Austin American-Statesman in a report. The victim said he was standing in the parking lot where his car had broken down when a man later identified as Allen Michael Riojas, 26, of Round Rock, walked up and asked for a ride, according to the report.

The man then asked to use the victim's bicycle in the car, but the man refused. Riojas then is said to have pulled out a semi-automatic pistol from the back of his waistband, prompting the victim to lunge at his attacker with the bike, the affidavit reads. Riojas then stepped back, accidentally dropping his gun to the ground before putting it back into his waistband.

Riojas started to walk away while talking on his cell phone, according to the report, telling the victim "My family is Mafia, and they kill for free." He then fled, but was picked up by police along the 400 block of North Mays and Anderson Avenue a short time later, according to the report.

Riojas now faces 20 years in prison on the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. He was being held at the Williamson County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
