Round Rock Among Cheapest Cities For Apartment Dwellers
Zumper data show Round Rock tied for third in the region for apartments, with rents just shy of $1,000 per month.

AUSTIN, TX — Apartment locator Zumper on Tuesday released its latest Metro Report for Central Texas, showing — to nobody's surprise — Austin to be the most expensive Central Texas city for rentals.
In the immediate area, Round Rock and Georgetown were among the least expensive cities in which to rent an apartment, tying for third place with rents just under $1,000 at $990, according to the analysis. San Marcos remained flat last month as the most affordable followed by Wells Branch, Kyle and Jollyeville which tied for second least expensive cities, with one bedrooms priced at $960.
Austin, to nobody's surprise, was the most expensive city for apartment rents. According to the analysis, Austin rent grew 4.7 percent to a median of $1,150. That makes Austin the most expensive city in the metro area in which to rent an apartment. Leander followed closely behind with one-bedroom units priced at $1,130. Cedar Park was third with rent at $1,090.

Austin also emerged as having among the fastest-growing rent from year to year, ranking third in the region with a 4.5 percent growth. Leander led the fastest-growing rent pack since this time last year, up 11.9 percent. Buda followed with an 8.5 percent yearly growth rate, making it the second-fastest growing city for rentals.
Month-to-month, Cedar Park had the largest rental growth rate, climbing 4.8 percent. Leander followed closely with a monthly growth rate of 4.6 percent since November. Austin was third, with rent increasing 4.5 percent.
