Round Rock City Council Approves Contract For New Road Leading To Dell Diamond

The existing main artery leading to the baseball venue, U.S. 79, gets quite congested on game days.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- City council members recently approved a contract with an engineering firm to design a new road to gain access to the Dell Diamond.

On game days, baseball fans sometimes are stuck in traffic along U.S. 79, the main artery leading to the baseball diamond that is the home of the Round Rock Express. The recently approved contract calls for a new, four-lane road in an area adjacent to the facility.

It's unclear when construction will start. The pre-construction design work itself is expected to take eight months.

Once done, however, the road will come as a huge relief to loyal baseball fans. Take me out to the ballgame, indeed.
