Round Rock Cops To Bolster Enforcement Along University Boulevard
Portion of the artery between Interstate 35 and Sunrise Road identified as 'collision reduction zone' given its level of traffic crashes.

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS — Police will increase patrols on University Boulevard between Interstate 35 and Sunrise Road, deemed a so-called collision reduction zone given its status as one of the city's most frequently reported collision sites, officials said.
The latest annual crash analysis revealed specific areas — and times of day in these areas — in which crashes are more likely, police explained. As a result, the Round Rock Police Department's Traffic Unit will alter is normal operations to more closely align its enforcement to the analysis, officials said.
While University Boulevard has been designated as the first collision reduction zone, other city arteries will be added to the list in accordance to the collected traffic data, police said. During the duration of the bolstered patrols, signage will be placed along the zones with enhanced enforcement of specific offenses known to contribute to crashes taking place.
