Round Rock Dyslexia Group Offers Resources, Support For Parents

The parent-led group meets the last Sunday of each month to offer resources, support, and mentorship for parents with dyslexic children.

ROUND ROCK, TX — According to The Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity, Dyslexia affects 20 percent of the population and is the most common of all neuro-cognitive disorders. Dyslexia is among the most common learning disorders, and resources and support is offered throughout communities in the nation. While dyslexia can't be remedied, with adequate support and access to resources, individuals with dyslexia may become highly successful in academics and as adults.

The Round Rock Public Library hosts the Round Rock Dyslexia Group the last Sunday of each month, and is an open to parents in the community. The parent-led organization offering mentoring through advocacy for dyslexia services in public school, home schooling, private and charter schools. The Round Rock Dyslexia Group is working toward district-wide improvement of dyslexia services for all students within Round Rock ISD.

The group offers resources, information, and support in order for kids with dyslexia my thrive as successful, bright, and happy students. Parents and caregivers are welcome to the meetings in order to learn more about a child's right under federal law and how these impact the needs of your child. For more click HERE.
