Round Rock Junior Police Academy Registration Set To Start
Registration for camp showing kids what it's like to be a cop starts Monday, Feb. 26, with limited spots expected to fill up quickly.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The dates have been announced for this summer's Junior Police Academy camps, Round Rock police said. Registration starts Monday, Feb. 26, and the limited spots are expected to fill up very quickly.
Monday's registration for the free summer program geared to youths ages 8 to 14 starts promptly at 8 a.m.
The local staging of the Junior Police Academy (JPA) is part of a nationwide program with a 20-year history of emphasizing community responsibility among our young citizens and public servants, officials explained. During the summer months, Round Rock Police Department hosts the free, week-long camps for kids in order to strengthen the connection between law enforcement and local youth by giving them a chance to see what it’s like to be a police officer.

The camp's mission statement: "We, the members of the Round Rock Junior Police Academy, strive to promote community youth education, preserve and strengthen community relationships, and to assert a positive influence on the citizens and the community in which we serve."
