Round Rock Man Arrested In Drug Deal With Shotgun Fire

ROUND ROCK, TX — Police have accused two men of robbing a man who was selling marijuana in a drug deal during which a shotgun was fired, according to a published report.
Bryan Almanza, 18, of Taylor and Carlos Aldair Alvarenga-Realegeno, 18, of Round Rock were both charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison, according to an arrest affidavit referenced by the Austin American-Statesman.
An unidentified man said he had marijuana stolen from him during a May 31 drug deal, during which he had shots fired at him, according to the report. The man had agreed to sell two ounces of marijuana for $300, police said. The men then met the buyer in a car along the 2200 block of Jasmine Path with other men he didn't know, according to the report.

Among those men were Alvarenga-Realegeno and Almanza, according to the report. The drug dealer entered the car and had a shotgun pointed at him, the affidavit details. As he exited the car, the shotgun was fired at him, according to the report.
As the drug dealer ran away, he saw that Alvareng-Realegeno had retrieved a 9mm handgun from his waistband, the newspaper reported. The marijuana was stolen.

Almanza and Alvarenga-Realegeno were being held in the Williamson County Jail on Monday with bail of $100,000 each. The victim was not charged, according to the report.
