Round Rock Man Arrested In Road Rage Incident
Police accuse Michael Thomas Olson, 41, of trying to run over another motorist after a Sunday confrontation at A.W. Grimes and U.S. 79.
ROUND ROCK, TX — A motorist has been accused of attempting to run over a man in Round Rock in the throes of road rage this past Sunday, police said.
Referencing an arrest affidavit, the Austin American-Statesman reported that Michael Thomas Olson, 41, of Round Rock was arrested following the incident. The victim said an argument was sparked after Olson threw something at the person's vehicle, according to the report. After that happened, the victim told police he then cut Olson off at the intersection of A.W. Grimes Boulevard and U.S. 79, according to the affidavit.
That's when the fight ensued, as detailed in the affidavit.

After returning to their vehicles, Olson allegedly started driving directly toward the victim as if trying to hit him, according to the report. The other driver was able to retreat to safety behind the driver's side door of his vehicle before Olson fled, the affidavit indicates.
The incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m., and scratches on the driver's side front door proved consistent with the victim's report, according to the affidavit. Police caught up with Olson, who told them he wasn't fleeing but trying to distance himself from a "volatile situation."
