Round Rock Man Charged With Breaking Teen's Jaw
LaQuay Deray Arnold, 40, was said to be upset that someone kicked a friend's door, taking out his anger on a teen who happened to pass by.

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS — Police have accused a man of punching a teenager in the jaw so hard that it had to be wired shut after becoming upset when someone kicked the door of a friend's house, according to a report.
The Austin American-Statesman reported that LaQuay Deray Arnold, 40, of Round Rock, hit the teenage boy even though he had nothing to do with the kicked-in door and just happened to be walking past the scene. The 16-year-old boy's jaw had to be wired shut for 16 days given the severity of the injury, the Statesman reported, referencing an arrest affidavit.
The incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. along the 11500 block of El Salido Parkway, in a part of Austin located within Williamson County. The boy told police he was walking on Bristle Oak Trail when the man asked him if he kicked the door, prompting him to run away in fright of the confrontation. After denying the accusation, Arnold is said to have punched the child while threatening to strike him again if he didn't disclose his friends' identities and addresses, accoding to the report.

Frightened, the boy led Arnold to the El Salido pavilion where the man engaged in a verbal confrontation with a group of children gathered there before leaving, according to the affidavit.
Arnold has since been charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Also charged with unlawful restraint, Arnold was being held at the Williamson County Jail with bail set at $80,000.

In the jail records site, Arnold is described as standing six feet tall and weighing 205 pounds. According to county jail records, he previously was booked in jail in May 2011 charged with possession of marijuana between four ounces and five pounds before bonding out on $7,000 bail. Records indicate he is originally from Waco.
