Round Rock Man Charged With Infant's Murder

Malik Williams, 22, faces either life in prison or the death penalty after three-month-old with multiple fractures dies in the hospital.

ROUND ROCK, TX — A Round Rock man has been accused of killing his infant daughter over the weekend, according to a published report.

Malik Williams, 22, has been charged with capital murder after he reportedly told police on Saturday he had squeezed the three-month-old child's neck before striking her head against a wooden railing, according to details of an arrest affidavit reported by the Austin American-Statesman.

Police were alerted to the incident just after 9 p.m. on Saturday along the 500 block of Buckboard Boulevard, according to the affidavit. The child was pronounced dead at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, according to the report. Among the child's injuries were multiple fractures to her chest, skull and ribs, the Statesman reported in referencing the affidavit.

If convicted, Williams faces either the death penalty or life in prison for the charge of capital murder that is a first-degree felony. According to the Williamson County jail records page, bond has yet to be set.
