Round Rock Man Charged With Shooting At Newspaper Delivery Driver He Thought Was Stripper

ROUND ROCK, TX — A Round Rock man was recently arrested after firing at a vehicle driven by a newspaper delivery driver that the suspect believed was a stripper with whom he was a acquainted, according to a published report.
Mark Harley Ferguson, 41, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the incident, as the Austin American-Statesman reported. His detention came after a four-hour standoff after he barricaded himself inside his Round Rock home, according to the report.
The newspaper delivery driver told police he came under fire while driving along the 1900 block of Texoma Drive early Friday, according to the report. The man said he saw a man later identified as Ferguson running toward his car with a flashlight in hand before firing a shot that hit the vehicle's right tail light just before 4 am., the report indicates.

According to an arrest affidavit, Ferguson is no stranger to police. He called officers in early June to report people were living in the attic, but no such dwellers were found. On the day of the shooting incident, he told police he was scared while claiming several people had burglarized his house and had secured himself in a closet, according to the report.
As for the shooting incident, Ferguson told police he only had his flashlight handy sans gun, and he thought the driver was a stripper with whom he was acquainted.

Despite his claims, Ferguson was booked into the Williamson County jail on Monday with bail set at $40,000, according to Williamson County Jail records.
